Meet the Cast of Marie Antionette
Asia Blocker ‘21 (Therese de Lamballe) is a sophomore at the Baldwin School. Ever since 7th grade Asia has found a love for theater. Whether it’s painting sets or acting, Asia enjoys participating in Baldwin’s creative arts program. Asia has acted in Mulan Jr., co-choreographed the Middle School’s production of Thumbelina, and is super excited to rejoin the stage with her good friend Skylar Zachian. Asia has been a member of Baldwin’s dance team since 7th grade and has also been apart of Baldwin’s Cappies team since 9th grade. Asia can’t wait to see everyone’s talents pour out on stage.
Sam Cappel ‘19 (Axel Fersen) is a homeschooled senior. This is his fourth show with The Baldwin School, having been Leaf in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, in Much Ado About Nothing as a member of the watch and Hairspray as Link. Besides theater, Sam enjoys filmmaking, playing the guitar, and ingesting large amounts of caffeine. He would like to thank everyone involved for making this show as amazing as it can be.
Juliana Charles ‘20 (Marie’s Retinue, US Marie) is in her junior year at the Baldwin school. So far she has acted in Hairspray, Aladdin, and part of Sister Act (she suffered from a concussion her freshman year) and also takes Adv. Theater with Mrs. McCulloch. Outside of theater, Juliana is the head of Diversity club and participates in Hispanic student association as well as Black student Union. She attends diversity conferences when they are offered. She also plays club field hockey and participates on her school team. Juliana also is part of the Bells and Chorus group. She is very excited to take part in this play and would like to shout out everyone for working hard on this production.
Sherry Chen ‘22 (Fashionista, Soldier, Supporting Sheep) is in her first year in the Baldwin school, and this is her first time doing the play. She also takes the Intro to Theatre class with Mrs. McCulloch. Outside of theatre, Sherry is on the Varsity dance team. She also participates in DECA and Model UN, and she is doing Tuesday tutoring in the Presbyterian church. She is excited in work on Marie Antoinette.
Katrina Conklin ‘20 (Yolande de Polignac) is a junior. She has performed in previous Maskers productions of Much Ado About Nothing (Hero) and Twelve Angry Jurors (Juror #2). Kit is a junior head of Baldwin’s mock trial team and the lead critic of Baldwin’s Cappies team (shoutout to the Cappies!!!!!).
Jattu Fahnbulleh ‘20 (Joseph) has been deeply invested in the arts since middle school. She has appeared in the Wizard of Oz as the Cowardly Lion, The Little Mermaid Jr. as Sebastian, Aladdin Jr. as the Sultan, in Sister Act as Curtis, and in 12 Angry Jurors as Juror 11, Much Ado About Nothing as Don Pedro, Hairspray as a Dynamite, and in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee as Barfée. She has been in Maskers for three years now, and has assistant directed the middle school productions of Thumbelina, Mulan Jr. and Honk Jr.. Jattu hopes to continue her career in theater with her friends, both as an actor and as a part of staff.
Sanae Hagino ‘21 (Mrs. Sauce, US Polignac) is a sophomore at Baldwin. This is her fourth year attending the school and fourth year participating in Baldwin’s shows. In middle school, she was a crew member for Aladdin Jr., and acted in Mulan Jr.. Sanae is an active member of Maskers and participates in every show in some way, whether it is on the staff or in the cast. She appeared in Hairspray as a Corny Collins dancer, and you may have seen her running around backstage during Much Ado About Nothing and 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. In addition to Maskers, Sanae is a member of the B-Flats, Baldwin’s a cappella group, and runs cross country in the fall. She considers herself a mega-arts kid, as she participates in performing arts and fine arts. She is so excited to be a part of the amazing show and would like to thank the whole cast and especially the crew for their hard work!
Lavender Huang ‘22 (Fashionista, Soldier, Supporting Sheep, US Mr. Sauce, Prop Coordinator) is a 14-year-old freshmen at Baldwin. Her passion for theater started from 7th grade theater class, and since then she has performed in Mulan Jr. (2017), Honk Jr. (2017), Men on Boats (2017), and she continues to look for more theater opportunities. This is her first time being an assistant director, and she’s excited to see how it turns out. She would like to thank Mrs. McCulloch for all the trust and support along the way!
Miles Hyatt-Long ‘21 (Fashionista, Soldier, Supporting Sheep) is a homeschooled sophomore. This is his second role in a Maskers production. In the fall, Miles was in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. In his free time, Miles enjoys robot combat, movies of varying quality, and plays any instrument he can get his hands on, expect for banjos (which are forbidden). Miles is glad to be back here at Baldwin acting again, thanks to everyone involved.
Blanche Jiang ‘20 (Fashionista, Soldier, Supporting Sheep) is happy to be in her fourth Maskers production. She began her exploration in drama since middle school, and she is really grateful for the opportunity she has been given. She would like to thank her director, all the Maskers in the show, and her family for being her incessant support and encouragement.
Taylor Levinson '21 (Mr. Sauce, Revolutionary 2, US Joseph) is a sophomore at Baldwin. She has performed in Aladdin Jr, Mulan Jr, Hairspray, was Jesus Christ in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, and also has performed many times outside of school. In her free time, Taylor loves to play soccer, sing with the Baldwin a cappella group, the B-flats, and play with her dogs. She is so happy to be able to be in this production and wants to thank the cast and crew for making this possible.
Caroline Lingle ‘22 (The Sheep) is so excited for her second show with Maskers. Prior to this, she was in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Ensemble), Shrek (Little Pig), Godspell (Featured Ensemble), and The Wizard of Oz (The Wizard), and Baldwin’s production of 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Mitch Mahoney). Caroline would like to thank everybody that helped to make this production so amazing and can’t wait for what next year brings for Maskers.
Emily Seltzer ‘20 (Louis XVI) is a junior at Baldwin. She has performed in previous plays at the school such as The Little Mermaid Jr., Aladdin Jr., Sister Act, Much Ado About Nothing, and Hairspray. Last year, she took a different approach to the theatre as one of the music directors for Honk Jr. Outside of the theatre, Emily can be found performing with the chorus and the school’s a cappella group, the B-Flats; if not singing, she can be found writing, sketching, or playing guitar. She is so excited to be a part of this production; she would like to thank the entire cast and crew for their hard work and dedication to put together such a spectacular show. She couldn’t have asked for a better experience to end her junior year.
Abby Shen ‘20 (Royalist, US Sheep) is a junior at Baldwin. She’s excited to be in her fourth show at Baldwin, previously appearing in Much Ado About Nothing (Seacoal and Ursula), Hairspray (Spritzer), and 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Panch). She’s extremely grateful to be part of such a committed and talented cast in this quirky production of Marie Antoinette. Outside of theatre, Abby likes to drink tea, study biology, write, draw, visit Wawa, and listen to music. She wants to thank Mrs. McCulloch for working tirelessly on this show and for offering Abby the opportunity to be part of this amazing play. She would also like to thank Emily Seltzer for being the perfect Louis.
Nahla Yankowy ‘22 (Dauphin) is a 14 year old freshman in her third year at Baldwin. She has so far worked on a production of Ferdinand the Bull, Mulan Jr., and Honk Jr. Outside of Baldwin theater, she is in the Baldwin chorus and she enjoys drawing, reading, and writing.
Skylar Zachian ‘21 (Marie Antoinette) is in her sophomore year at Baldwin. She has been a part of many past Baldwin shows, including last year’s Maskers production of Hairspray as Corny Collins member Doreen. She is on the Baldwin Dance Team and is taking advanced theater this year. Outside of theater, Skylar is a Junior head of Cradles to Crayons club, a Baldwin lamplighter, and takes photos for the Hourglass school newspaper. She is so excited to take on the role of Marie this year and would like to thank the entire cast and staff of Marie Antoinette for their hard work in putting the show together!
Sydney Zilch ‘20 (Revolutionary 1) is a junior at Baldwin. Sydney is new to Baldwin this year, and she is very excited to be in her first show. She hopes to be a part many Baldwin shows in the future. Outside of the theater, Sydney plays volleyball, is a camp counselor, and loves doing anything related to technology, especially coding. Sydney would like to thank the entire cast and crew for being so supportive and kind. Thanks, everyone!
